Dan Burgers is the President and Founder of Sports Pro Services (SPS), a multifaceted sports management firm based in Dallas, Texas. SPS is an organization designed to provide full service management, representation and advisement to amateur and professional baseball players. Dan is a certified player agent by the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA).
SPS employs a unique approach to professional management by providing a complete array of services which are designed to enhance our clients' personal and financial well being and marketability. Unlike many of the other agents in the profession, Dan has seen both sides of the business, as a General Manager with executive sports management experience and as a sports agent. Having had the opportunity to work on both sides of the table has provided him with a unique perspective and experience that few can match.
Dan's sports management career began with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League, and following two seasons in the NHL, he ventured into a managerial role with the Fort Worth Brahmas. During his third season with the organization, he was named the leagues Executive of the Year. In 2002 he assumed the role of General Manager and Chief Operating Officer with the New Mexico Scorpions, and at the age of 28, was one of the youngest GM's working in professional sports.
Sports Pro Services was launched during the spring of 2003. Dan's exposure in sports management has provided the necessary experience and tools in personal and business management including career decisions, contract negotiations, financial management, marketing, public relations and endorsements. More importantly, being the Founder and President of SPS ensures that all clients will receive the necessary personal service and attention that is needed, as Dan deals with all of our clients directly and on an individual basis.
Dan is a graduate from Fairfield University in Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science in Finance. He was born in Nutley, NJ and played high school baseball at St. Peters Prep in Jersey City and was awarded a partial baseball scholarship to Fairfield University. He currently resides in Dallas with his wife Diann.
