In 2007: Cranston compiled a 5-1 record after splitting time between Augusta and Salem Keizer. He led all Volcanoes starting pitchers with a 1.05 WHIP and 2.77 ERA. His 72 strikeouts not only led the whole pitching staff, but also were 6th best in the Northwest League. Cranston earned Northwest League Pitcher of the Week honors in August after going 2-0, compiling a .82 ERA and whiffing 18 batters in 11.0 innings of work. He finished the season with a 5-1 record, 3.72 ERA, and 85 strikeouts in 65.1 innings for both Augusta and Salem Keizer.

Career Highlights: In 2006, the Junior Southpaw was a 34th round draft selection of the San Francisco Giants. Cranston led Salem Keizer with an average of 2 strikeouts per inning pitched. In 13 games coming out of the pen, he compiled a 2-0 won/loss record while allowing only 13 hits in 17 innings of work while striking out 34.

Cranston completed his Nebraska career with a 2-0 record in just one season with the Cornhuskers, while striking out 15 in 15 innings pitched. He made 21 appearances as he helped solidify the bullpen and assisted the Huskers in advancing to the regionals of the 2006 postseason.

Prior to joining Nebraska, the Colby, Kansas native played two seasons at Seward County Community College, where he was also selected the first time by the Giants, but in the 46th round. At Seward CCC, he earned First-Team All Jayhawk League honors in 2005 after going 6-2 with 101 strikeouts in 77.1 innings en route to posting a 2.68 ERA.
