In 2007: Playing in his first full minor league season with Hickory, Presley played in 121 games compiling 145 hits (second on the team) and posting a .293 average (second among starters). He led the Crawdads with 8 triples and also hit 22 doubles and 11 home runs for a total of 41 extra base hits. His 79 runs, 216 total bases and 45 walks were second on the team, respectively, and his 63 RBI’s were third on the team. Aside from providing some pop in the lineup, Presley also managed to swipe 18 bases (tied for second on the team), and provided stellar defense in centerfield. Presley’s impressive season culminated with a chance to play later in the Hawaiian Winter League Season.

Career Highlights: Presley was selected in the 8th roundof the 2006 Amateur Baseball Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was named Williamsport’s (Short-Season A) Team MVPas he compiled impressive numbers in his initial professional campaign. He led the New York-Penn League with 8 Triples while also setting a team single season record. Presley also led the team in Home Runs (3), Total Bases (90), RBI’s (23) and BB’s (17). The Outfielder was just as impressive out in the field, as he was named by Baseball America as being the Best Defensive Player out of the Pirates 2006 Draft Class.

Presley finished the 2006 collegiate season anchoring the Ole Miss outfield.  During his junior, and final campaign, he was a consistent contributor at the plate as he helped lead the Rebel offense with a .336 average for the season and 61 RBI. Presley also tied the school record for triples in a career (14) with seven triples during the 2006 season. He was also 20-of-24 in steals, and posted excellent overall power numbers with 18 doubles and 6 home runs for a .540 slugging percentage. Presley was also named the RonsenblattReport.Com “National Player of the Week” twice during the 2006 campaign, and SEC player of the Week once.

Presley was a three-year starter at Ole Miss and in his freshman campaign earned 2nd team Freshman All-American Honors by Baseball America and was also named to the SEC All Freshman team.
