In 2007: Rodriguez competed for the low-A ball Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest. In 23 appearances out of the bullpen, he went 3-3 with a 3.74 ERA and 29 strikeouts. He finished third on the team in appearances and fourth in WHIP with a 1.22 over 33.2 innings. His 8 holds led all relief pitchers.

Career Highlights: Rodriguez was selected in the 28th round of the 2007 MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies. He wrapped up his second season at Ole Miss going 2-2 with a 4.10 ERA with one save in 37.1 innings tossed. In his 21 games pitched, he struck out 28 batters and did not allow a single home run to his opponents. In 2006, he appeared in 20 games making 9 starts. Starting the season in the bullpen, he worked his way into the starting lineup and posted a 5-3 record over 81.1 innings. He tied for the team lead with 2 complete games tossed and struck out 59 batters in the process.

Before Ole Miss, Rodriguez was a star pitcher for Pearl City Community College. In his sophomore year, he led the to a no. 1 national ranking going 12-2 with 4 saves and a 2.21 ERA in 18 appearances. As Mississippi’s top Juco pitcher, he had a stellar strikeout to walk ratio fanning 110 hitters and walking only 28 over 78 innings. The southpaw was named a First Team All-American selection and was also an All-State and All-Region selection as well.

As a freshman in 2004, he helped lead Pearl City to the Mississippi State Championship. After his freshman year, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays selected him with their 31st pick in the 2004 MLB draft.
