WLODARCZYK DRAFTED IN 7th ROUND BY TAMPA BAY

DALLAS, TEXAS – (June 8, 2005) - Sports Pro Services (SPS) is pleased to announce that (LHP) Mike Wlodarczyk of Boston College has been selected in the 7 th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Wlodarczyk was the 208th player drafted overall, and the first southpaw selected by the Rays. He is expected to sign with the Rays later this week.

Wlodarczyk was also drafted in the 2004 MLB Draft in the 15 th round by the Montreal Expos, and was named by Baseball America as the “One Who Got Away” from the Expos 2004 draft class. Last summer he pitched for the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he earned all-star status after going 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 43.1 innings of work.

Dan Burgers, the Agent for Wlodarczyk , stated, “Mike is a fierce competitor, and when he received his chance this past summer at the Cape to pitch regularly, he flourished. He has developed command of four pitches, with his fastball reaching the low 90’s. His numbers since last summer speak for themselves, and I am excited for Mike and look forward to his bright future.”
