The 6' 0”, 190-pound third baseman will be making his second consecutive Atlantic League All-Star Game appearance. Marval is hitting .301 on the season and is second on the team in hits with 72, in walks with 24, and doubles with 17. He is third on the Surf in runs scored with 37 and RBI's with 34. He is tied for fourth in the league in both hits and doubles.

Marval began his professional career by signing a free agent contract with the San Francisco Giants organization in 1993. He played for eight seasons with the organization, making appearances at all levels in their minor league system. He spent his first five seasons of professional ball playing at all levels of A Ball. In 1998, Marval reached (AA) Shreveport and in 1999 he spent 97 games in (AAA) Fresno where he hit .300 with 15 doubles, 7 home-runs and 46 RBI's.

This past season, Marval played in 116 games and hit .278 with 29 doubles, 16 home-runs and 77 RBI's for the Atlantic City Surf. He finished second on the team in doubles and fourth on the squad in both home-runs and RBI's. The versatile infielder played the majority of games at SS, but also spent time at both 2B and 3B. League wide, he finished tied for fifth in doubles with 29 and second in the entire league in runs scored with 91.
